After 2020 saw Plastik Funk debut in the DJ Mag Top 100 DJs Poll, his releases, as well as live shows when touring was able to happen, have possibly helped to grow his fanbase. Where last year, he upped the ante on singles such as ‘High Enough’ with Firebeatz, ‘Rock This Town’ with Deekey and, most recently, his Eastern-influenced ‘Tribute To Asia’ EP, he now returns to Mixmash Bold.
Linking up with Pajane and Salvatore Mancuso, the trio release ‘Through The Night’. Inaugurating their collective sound with a 4/4 beat, space is still discovered for the breathy female vocal. As “Sweet dreams of rhythm and dancing / Sweet dreams of passion through the night” rises above a collection of deeper synths, the top line delivery evolves into looped and chopped territory to bring a level of fun to the production.
Some may recognise Pajane and Salvatore Mancuso from linking up with Plastik Funk on their collective VIP edit of 'Feet Don’t Touch’. In addition, releases from Pajane, including ‘White Powder’, have seen him receive support from artists including Bassjackers, with Mancuso also unleashing his live performances from Sunset Beach Festival, to Ibiza and beyond.
