UK-based DJ/producer Wheats returns to Jamie Jones’ Hottrax this month with ‘Another Planet EP’. Following releases on Kaluki, Circus, and Solid Grooves and picking up support from Hot Since 82, Pete Tong, Yousef and more, he follows 2020’s ‘In Your Head’ EP with this set of three house cuts.

Lead track ‘Humanic’ features Medusa’s vocals around a bed of glitchy and visceral clicks and pops, whizzing around drum patterns and swung basslines.

‘Drive’, also featuring Medusa’s vocals, brings percussion and rave stabs over subs for an upbeat track.

‘Insomniac’ brings a dose of the after-hours to the EP, making use of drum patterns and breakdowns, with the stuttering low end bringing the release to a trippy conclusion.
