Solarstone

A longtime admirer of the classical style, Solarstone assessed the ‘sonata's’ fast-slow-fast tempo and structured movements as nearly tailor-made for a club track. So, he leaned into the idea, going on to craft a release that takes its cues, notes, and sonic influences from dawn-of-the-genre labels like EyeQ, Harthouse, and Superstition, among others.

To preserve that acoustic-to-electronic integrity, he drew exclusively on hardware synthesisers, holding true to the track’s small ensemble composition style.

Filtered through the lens of progressive trance, the track opens with cinematically sweeping strings, pulsing bass, drum roll and the ethereal echo of Gregorian chants. With nagging, modulating sub-riffs, it builds Neo-Baroque-like up to its break before falling into its ornate piano sonata solo, then climbs again through scherzo shifts to reach its emotional peak.

Balancing Solarstone’s technical precision and expressive depth, the track delivers an original and immersive electronic journey. The track’s available now through all major sales and streaming platforms, with the full ‘Innermost’ album arriving on 12 June.
