Bengoxi lands on Brazilian label Red Room with ‘Need It’, an emotive mid-tempo cut that aims to pull on the dancefloor’s heartstrings. The Afro house soundtrack brings soft pads to the fore while a female vocal and looping percussion give a sun-drenched aura. On the flip, label boss Rod Brito delivers a remix to round off the release.
Rio de Janeiro-based producer Bengoxi, a lawyer amongst DJs, seeks to break down stereotypes within electronic music with a handful of productions on imprints such as Muzenga Records, Atabaque and Quebra Coco Records.
Founded in 2021, Brazilian imprint Red Room, spearheaded by founder Rod Brito, has released tracks from artists such as Victor Arruda, Rivo and Ed Lopes, garnering support from acts including Jixo & Danz, Animal Trainer, and AMÉMÉ.
Bengoxi’s ‘Need It’ is out now on Red Room.
