Black Coffee

UK promoter Labyrinth recently announced the first headliner for its new open-air live music series, Labyrinth on the Thames. GRAMMY Award winning South African DJ/producer, Black Coffee will make history on 1 August, becoming the first-ever DJ to headline London’s Old Royal Naval College, Greenwich - a UNESCO World Heritage Site. This exclusive performance will also be Black Coffee's only London show this summer.

Known for his fusion of house, soul, and traditional African rhythms, Black Coffee’s sound, Grammy-winning talent and collaborations with the likes of Pharrell Williams, Usher, Diplo, RyX, David Guetta and more apparently earned him the title of the World’s Best DJ of 2024 (source tbc).

The event will launch the new six-day series, celebrating contemporary dance music, taking place during the first two weekends in August. Each day of the series is crafted by the headlining artist, and on 1 August, Black Coffee will present his own line-up and live production. Staged across the afternoon and evening until 11pm, the event combines the backdrop of the Thames riverside and London’s skyline with the artist’s vision.

Black Coffee’s performance at the Old Royal Naval College will be elevated by production from High Scream, the creative force behind his residency at Hi Ibiza. They are possibly known for their work on stages such as the Paris 2024 Olympics Closing Ceremony, Madison Square Garden and Coachella.

Nick Castleman, founder of Labyrinth: “As someone of South African heritage myself, it brings me great joy to announce Black Coffee as the first show at this breathtaking location. Black Coffee’s story and achievements throughout his illustrious career are forever inspiring and we couldn’t dream up a more fitting act to launch the venue with.”
