Mark Williams’ ‘Come Back’ EP for Hardgroove sees the British producer deliver five cuts that encapsulate the heavyweight side of the label’s sound. Hooks dominate ‘Come Back’, whether it be the looped and filtered vocals of ‘Your Eyes’ or ‘Take My Love’ or the unctuous acid of ‘On The Floor’, stabs of ‘Oh Boy (Dub)’ and keys of ‘Magic Flute (Dub)’.
The EP is shot through with the Essex-born producer’s rhythm tracks, providing possible dancefloor moments from start to finish. Despite an eight-year hiatus from 2015, he has a possible reputation as one of UK-techno’s most popular figures.
His percussive sounds have apparently influenced countless producers and movements within the genre, and his work continues to push forward.
