Producer, songwriter and audio engineer Clarian makes his Bedrock debut with ‘Elephant Dust’. The Montreal-based artist’s creativity is supplemented with the remix input of the label's residents John Digweed & Nick Muir. The track rides on a subtle, swinging, deep throbbing bass that resonates with evocative layers of synth-laden melody, building into an atmospheric framework.
Laying down a heavier, more linear groove foundation, John and Nick’s remix experiments with layers of hypnotic melodic motifs and some spiralling synth drama.
With over a decade of producing leftfield dance music, Clarian’s music shares a thoughtful simplicity when combined with his experience as a mixing and mastering engineer. From collaborating with Guy Gerber and Felix da Housecat, to a spectrum of releases on the likes of Kompakt, Lost & Found, Visionquest, Turbo, Soft Touch, Last Night On Earth, Get Physical and many more, his creativity, married to an addiction to synthesisers, sci-fi movie scores and cosmic composers, is inspiring and a fit for Bedrock’s musical output.
