Madben

Paris-based Madben heads to A-Traction Records this month to deliver ‘Acid Madness’, accompanied by remixes from Scan X, Marc Ayats & Owlk and Yann Lean. Having released on a host of imprints including Bedrock, Astropolis Records and Ellum, French DJ/producer Benjamin Leclerq aka Madben has possibly established himself as a key name within France’s current electronic landscape.

With recent appearances in the diary including a back to back alongside Ellum boss Maceo Plex at T7 Paris, plus further sets across the capital at Rex Club and La Clairière, and international shows at D! Club (Lausanne) and Kater Blau (Berlin), the Frenchman now turns his attention back to the studio as he joins the likes of Agoria, Traumer, DJ Hell and more to release his ‘Acid Madness’ EP on French techno imprint A-Traction Records, accompanied by a handful of remixes.

Madben’s original opens the package as ever-evolving synth progressions work amongst floating acid lines and crisp percussion, before French techno artist Scan X turns in a melodic interpretation, focusing on deep kicks and hypnotic lead lines throughout.

Next up, label founder Marc Ayat combines with Owlk to reveal a driving remix that pairs the original’s 303 patterns alongside driving bass licks and tough low end, whist long term collaborator Yann Lean employs hats and analogue percussion arrangements to wrap up the EP.

It’s out 18 January.
